"INDIA IS A DEMOCRATIC STATE WITH NO DEMOCRATIC VALUES" - AGAINST THE MOTION

I would positively stand against this motion. I would say, with all the confidence I have, that India is a democratic state WITH democratic values. First of all we need to understand the meaning of the term 'democracy'.  'Democracy' means that a country which is not run by a king or a queen. The people elect their leaders by themselves and for the good of themselves. And, India is the biggest democracy in the world.  Then, we come to democratic values. It is clearly stated in the Constitution that we are all equal and we are free to do whatever we want to. But, this does not mean that we harm others by our actions. A person cannot be compelled to do something that he/she does not want to do. We have access to education, water, food, electricity, etc. We live with dignity, We live with peace.
