Dr. Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam was the 11th President of India. (2002-2007)
I was in a state of shock and sadness when I heard that such a great person was no more! He was known as the Missile Man of India!
When I heard about him last night, I remembered that day when I first met him. I was not well that day and I was sleeping. Suddenly, my father called my mother and said to come to the Hindustan office. At first, I didn't know about him coming and I was very annoyed at the thought of going out anywhere as I was not well. That day, when I finally reached the Hindustan office, I came to know that Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was coming, and all the children had to welcome him. He had come to visit people in the Hindustan office and all the children, including me, welcomed him with fresh red roses. I was the first child to welcome him. He asked my name, school, my hobbies, etc-etc. It was not like I was the first one to welcome him so he asked these questions only from me, he asked that from every child present there. He treated everyone equal. I was not well so I don't remember what all he said in his speech but I surely believe that they were good things. He gave us his autograph also. He was very kind and loved children.
I don't think that there is even a single person who can say anything bad about him because he was a great soul! It was a sad day for the people of India!
He always said, " Sapne wo nahin jo hum sotey samay dekhte hain, sapne wo hain jo humein sone nahin dete!"
We should always remember this........
For me only his soul has left us, only his soul has died! But, actually he will always remain in our hearts!
He once said, " When I die, please don't declare it as a holiday, instead make it an extra working day!"
We should keep this in mind and we should put an extra effort to our work!
