AN OPEN LETTER TO MY PARENTS

Dear Mummy and Papa,      I saw a movie named 'Chichore' few days back. The movie showed how a boy couldn't clear his JEE ADVANCED examination and after seeing his result he attempted suicide as he thought that everyone would call him a 'loser' now. The fear of being called a 'loser' made him take a drastic step. His parents never forced him really for studying or getting number 1 rank, but he somehow, was under pressure. His parents were divorced, but they were in touch on a regular basis and they brought him up well. One night before the result, his father got him a wine bottle and said that they'll celebrate after his results when he'll clear the examination. When his parents received the tragic news that he jumped from the balcony and is in the hospital, they rushed. The boy's friend told his parents that he was saying before jumping that he is afraid now everyone will call him a 'loser'.       His parents broke down. The boy's co...

Was The Indian Constitution Made Only For Studying In Schools?

I ask you all this, “Was the Indian Constitution made only for studying in schools?” I ask this because from what I am seeing in newspapers and on the news channels, I feel the answer is ‘yes’.  Our Indian Constitution gives us six fundamental rights. 1.        The Right of Equality (Art. 14-18) 2.        The Right of Freedom (Art. 19-22) 3.        The Right against Exploitation (Art. 23-24) 4.        The Right to Freedom of Religion (Art. 25-28) 5.        Cultural and Educational Rights (Art. 29-30) 6.        Right to Constitutional Remedies(Art. 32) Now, do we actually practice these? No, we don’t.  Right of Equality Apparently, according to this right we cannot discriminate on the grounds of religion, caste, creed, sex, place of birth, etc. But why then, despite the...

"REBEL WOMEN DESERVE TO GET RAPED"

Hello. Adab. Namaste. So... I was scrolling through my instagram feed and going through my friends' stories. I saw an IGTV Video continuously being shared on everyone's stories. I was wondering what is it. I clicked it and opened the video. The title of the video said "REBEL WOMEN DESERVE TO GET RAPED", which made me quite curious to see what was it all about. The video was uploaded by a girl named Shivani Gupta. She was visiting a restaurant with her friends where a lady commented on her that if she's wearing a dress, men will ofcourse rape her. I have no words to say after watching that video. I really don't understand the fact that how can women say something like this for other women. After watching the video, some people may tell me or think that if someone has such a thinking then obviously its wrong, but what can we do. There's nothing to make such a havoc out of it. But my dear friends, I would like to say that unless you dont speak up, unless ...

Summing Up These Few Months In One Post

Sorry, for not posting anything. Apologies! These few months many events took place. I was honestly very eager to write about them. Unfortunately, I fell ill and I also had to go out of station and I couldn't take out time for this. We had Girl Child Day celebrated in school with a lot of enthusiasm like every year. Gandhi Corner is the club in our school which manages all of it and I am glad to be a member of it.  We invited girls from many schools and organised competitions for them. All the members of the Gandhi Corner were made incharge of a school, or given some duty or the other. At the end of the event we also distributed gifts to the girls from other schools like school bags, stationery items, utensils, sanitary napkins, etc. We enjoyed a lot with the girls. The girls were very creative in their work, especially in the collage making competition and I was amazed to see their fabulous work. I went for a school trip to Binsar in Uttarakhand during my Dusshera break. It was...
